FAQ

plumbing service, affordable price

Q: My faucet has low pressure. Is there a simple solution to this problem?

A: You can remove the aerator screen that's located on the end of the spout. It's possible you have some debris blocking the screen. You can either replace it but always try flushing it out first.

Q: Toilets- Why does my toilet continuously or intermittently run?

A: The most common problem is the flapper inside the tank. A flapper can be purchased at your local hardware store for usually under $5.00.

Q: Drain line stoppage -- my main sewer line always clogs up. I have a professional clear it frequently, how can I avoid this?

A: With our state-of-the-art drain camera, we can diagnose where the trouble starts so we can fix the problem, the first time.

Q: My toilet seems to stop up on a regular basis. Is there anything I can do to avoid this annoying and embarrassing problem?

A: Yes. Your toilet problem is caused by either an accumulation of calcium surrounding the flush jets, or you have one of the new 1.6 gallons per flush toilet, in which you have a narrow trap-way for soil waste to exit. The best solution is to upgrade to a better designed toilet with either a pressure assist or a larger trap-way.

Q: Water Heater- Why does my hot water smell like rotten eggs or has a yellowish tint?

A: If your water heater is over 15 yrs old, you might want to consider replacing it. Water heaters have a tendency to collect hard water deposits and sediment over time causing a yellowish tint or rotten egg smell. If it's a newer model, try flushing the tank by hooking up a garden hose to the bottom and flushing the tank. But remember you must turn the power supply off prior to draining. A water heater's average lifespan is 12- 18 years. Remember too, replacement of an older tank could save you from a future flood.

Q: Is a water softener really important to have?

A: Yes, having a water softener not only reduces water heater sediment buildup but also saves you money on soap and cleaning products. A water softener in the home will extend the life of your plumbing fixtures by removing the hard water minerals, a constant aggravation to those who do not own a softener.
